The selection of tools must take into account the processing capacity of CNC lathe, the content of process and the material of workpiece. The selection of CNC lathe tools requires not only high hardness, high wear resistance, sufficient strength and toughness, high heat resistance and good machinability, but also dimensional stability, convenient installation and adjustment. Therefore, the machining tool CNC must be made of new high-quality materials, and the tool parameters must be optimized to make the tool size match the surface and shape of the workpiece. So, how do you choose the right tool?
(1) Select the appropriate tool
The function of metal cutting tools is very important in the machining of NC lathe. The materials used to manufacture the tool must have high hardness, wear resistance and heat resistance, sufficient strength and toughness, good thermal conductivity and processability, and good economy. On the premise that the selection of tools meets the requirements of processing workpieces, try to select tools with larger diameter. The harmony and resistance are better in the same process. The number of tools should be as small as possible to reduce the number of tool changes; Select standard tools without any special non-standard tools.
(2) Reasonably determine the tool setting point
When machining parts in CNC lathe, the starting point of the tool is the starting point of the tool relative to the workpiece. Also known as "program starting point" or "reproduction point". The selection of the point of the tool must comply with the following principles: easy to use digital processing and simple discovery of the lathe, easy programming, easy machining and verification, resulting in small machine error. The position of the point of the tool can be selected outside the workpiece or the workpiece (as an attachment or surrounding), but it must have a certain dimensional relationship to locate the reference workpiece. The point of the tool should be selected as far as possible based on the reference in the process of design or workpiece, as the workpiece is positioned in the center of the point of the tool with the hole and optional hole. The position of the tool is aligned with the hole so that the "point" and "blade point" match. In this way, the efficiency of the blade can be improved and the treatment quality can be guaranteed.
Cutting quantity includes: spindle speed, cutting depth and feed speed. When selecting the cutting amount of NC milling machine, if it is rough machining, it is generally to improve productivity, consider economy and processing cost, and select large cutting depth and feed speed; In case of semi-finished products and finished products, on the premise of ensuring the processing quality, the processing efficiency, economy and cost must be considered, and the tools must be configured at a higher feed speed during empty movement. The specific values shall be based on lathe manual, cutting quantity manual and experience.
